Paul Thiebaud Obituary

Paul J. Thiebaud
Paul J. Thiebaud, 89, of Zelienople passed away peacefully on Saturday at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Jan. 19, 1923, in Zelienople, he was the son of the late Paul Hercule and Emma Elizabeth (Henkel) Thiebaud.
Paul was a member of the Harmony-Zelienople United Presbyterian Church and was an active member of the VFW Post 879. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a master upholsterer and cabinet maker who proudly learned the trade from his father who emigrated from Switzerland. He and his brother, Eugene, followed in their father's footsteps and truly loved being craftsmen.
Paul was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed playing poker and horseshoes. Above all, he was a loving and devoted grandfather who will always be remembered by saying, "Call me if you need anything." He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 63 years, Margaret (Buffington) Thiebaud; his two children, Denise (Dennis) English of Pittsburgh and John (Sandy) Thiebaud of Butler; his two brothers, Daniel (Kay) Thiebaud of Zelienople and Eugene (Doris) Thiebaud of Florida; his two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Dolter of Ellwood City and Mildred Sullivan of Ellwood City; his six granddaughters, Erin (Andrea) English, Rachel (Chris) Tamanini, Brittany (Rich) Carter, Sarah Thiebaud, Justine Thiebaud and Ashley Thiebaud; and his precious great-granddaughter, Lilliana Tamanini.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Lang.

Stephen has the wonderful memory of interviewing "Uncle Paul" for his school project and laughing at his stories of when he was a young boy. My memories are of his smile and his laughter.
