Phillip D. White, 62, of Butler, died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday at Sunnyview Home after a short bout of lung cancer.
He was born March 5, 1945 in Beaver Falls, to the late Herbert Jackson White and Audrey Frances Melton White.
He was a member of Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Department and was the fire police captain since 1998. He was a veteran of the Army, having served in Vietnam.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Brian (Teresa) Chapman of Lyndora, Donna White of Pittsburgh, and Jayla and Kathy White, both at home; his fiancee, Tammy J. Kudamik of Butler; two grandchildren, Zachary and Alisha White; one sister, Alberta Clark of New Galilee; one brother, Clem "Ed" White of Charleston, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol J. Casto White, who died Dec. 31, 2000; one brother, and one sister.
WHITE - Friends of Phillip D. White, who died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Young Funeral Home, Butler. Services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Henry B. Hall officiating.
Interment will take place in the Crown Hill Cemetery.
Military honors by VFW Post 249 and American Legion Post 778 will take place at the graveside.
