Sally Bresnahan Obituary

Surrounded by love, Sally Ann Hoover Bresnahan, 95, of Butler, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025.
Born in Butler on Jan. 10, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Keith and Helen Davis Hoover.
A loving and devoted wife to Mike Bresnahan and cherished mother, she brought warmth and strength to everyone around her. Her life was a gift to all who knew her and her legacy of love, kindness and deep faith will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Mike and Sally met at Castle Roller Rink in the late 1940s. They fell in love, married in April of 1951, and began a long and beautiful life together. From that love came six children who married, and from their love came 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and twins on the way. Dad still says, "I was so lucky, I got a good one!"
Sally was known for her infectious laughter, warmth, generosity and countless talents. The neighborhood enjoyed her homemade bread, the grandchildren agreed she made the best applesauce and her rhubarb pies were legendary. Just a few of her favorite things were Thursdays at Panera with her girlfriends, going to the casino, playing cards and games with family, holidays and sewing.
Growing up in a large household meant there was never a dull - or quiet - moment. She made our home a loving, functional chaos filled with laughter. She found herself as referee to more than an occasional argument and she could make each of us feel like her favorite (though some of us still claim that title).
Sally's life was a beautiful example of love, devotion and grace. Throughout their years of marriage, Sally and Mike took care of each other with an unwavering commitment until the very end.
Our family extends a special thank you to the nurses and aides at Concordia at the Orchard, who lovingly took care of our beloved wife and mother, Sally.
Sally is survived by her husband of 74 years, Mike Bresnahan; her children, Larry Bresnahan (Kathy Wheeler Bresnahan), Dave Bresnahan, Sherry (Rex) Rodgers, Patty (George) Colosimo, Michele (Tim) Henry and Holly (Chris) Martin; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Hoover and his wife, Grace Ann, and their two sons; her daughter-in-law, Karen Graham Bresnahan; grandson, Christopher Michael Rodgers; sisters-in-law; and brothers-in-law.
Sally, honey, mom, grandma - you will be missed more than you will ever know. Until we meet again … we love you, love you, love you!
BRESNAHAN - A Mass of Christian burial for Sally Ann Hoover Bresnahan, who died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, was held privately at All Saints Parish, St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of MARTIN FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
