Sarah N. "Sally" Cross, 95, of Butler died at 11:15 a.m. Friday at ConcordiaCare, Cabot
Born March 16, 1909, in Butler, she was the daughter of David Walter and Sarah Nancy Rankin Fleeger.
She was a member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, where she had been a deacon. She also had belonged to the Butler Women's Club and Eastern Star Maqueda Chapter 45.
Mrs. Cross started working at the Butler Public Library in 1936 and retired as head librarian after 37 years. She served as chairman of Four-County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Library Association in 1950 and in 1969.
Several nephews and nieces survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William LeMoyne Cross; a brother; and two sisters.
CROSS - Memorial services for Sarah N. "Sally" Cross, who died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church with interim pastor, the Rev. Kate Filer, officiating. Private burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.
