Born in Pittsburgh on June 1, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Earl R. Cowell and Veronica Bungert.
She graduated from North Allegheny High School in 1957.
Theresa was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Christian Community Church, Gibsonia. She enjoyed serving God and others in many ways, including Vacation Bible School, nursery and Card Ministry, to name just a few.
Theresa had been active in the former Evans City OctoberFest and the Evans City Salvation Army.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant, as well as a daughter (Marilyn); two sisters, Jean and Dorothy; and two brothers, Richard and Earl.
Surviving are her husband, Karl W. Kennedy, whom she married July 20, 1957; one daughter, Kathy; two sons, Karl (Ana), of Virginia, and James (Becky), of Zelienople; five grandchildren, Kyle, Kristopher (Amy), Andrea (Nathan), Alex (Courtney) and Sean (Lauren); and four great-grandchildren, Micah, Abigail, Kayleigh and Callen.
KENNEDY - A celebration of life for Theresa Ann (Cowell) Kennedy, who died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, in Seaman Memorial Chapel at Lutheran Senior Life, Passavant Retirement Community, 105 Burgess Drive, second floor, Zelienople.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Theresa's name be made to Christian Community Church, 5719 N. Montour Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044, or the Salvation Army Evans City, 139 Harrison St., Evans City, PA 16033.
Arrangements have been entrusted to A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, 328 W. Main St., Evans City.

From the time I can remember, like 1967 when I was 9, I've enjoyed Grandma Sutton's neighbors Karl and Terri Kennedy and their children. Three wheelers down the sidewalk and all. Sitting on the swing just to talk. The violets that grew between the two houses. Very special that her birthday was just 2 days before mine (and 19 years), so we were birthday penpals. Treasuring the many cards and letters and so many memories. May they be a comfort to you, too.
