Bonita Jean "Bonnie" Konkel

Bonita (Bonnie) Jean Konkel, age 80, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, in St. Paul, MN.

Bonnie was born in Olivia, MN, to Sylvester "Syl" Pellowski and Leona (Lejk) Pellowski. She grew up in a loving family in Winona, MN, before the family later moved to Caledonia, MN. After graduating from high school, Bonnie married Charles Henry Konkel, and together they had three beautiful children. They later divorced. Bonnie was a very special soul who faced many challenges throughout her life but ultimately losing a courageous battle with stage 4 ovarian cancer.

Bonnie embodied kindness and generosity to friends around her, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. Throughout her life, Bonnie was an avid animal lover and enjoyed keeping her hands busy crocheting potholders and scarves. She loved shopping and cherished spending time outdoors, especially at Pettibone Park in La Crosse, WI.

Bonnie is survived by her children: Nancy (Abbas) Nedjar of Berryville, VA; Paula (Rod) Mickelson-Hammons of Nekoosa, WI; and Jim Konkel of Rochester, MN. She is also survived by her siblings: LuAnn (Dale) Goergen of Caledonia, MN, and Joseph Pellowski of Yucatan, MN. Her devoted grandchildren: Zachary Nedjar, Eric Hammons, Malika Nedjar, Connor Mickelson, Sarah Nedjar, and Rayen Nedjar, and longtime friend and confidant Tim Blumentritt of La Crescent, MN, will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester "Syl" and Leona (Lejk) Pellowski; her siblings, Jolene Ann Hosch, Gary Pellowski, and Steven Pellowski, sister-in-law Anne Pellowski, and her former husband, Charles Henry Konkel.

May Bonnie rest in eternal peace, free from pain, and may her memory continue to bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.
