June Berkley Obituary

June Ann "Sally" (Scanlan) Berkley, 80, of Parkville, Missouri, formerly of Caledonia, MN, peacefully completed her life journey on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Sally was born on September 14, 1945 to Marie (Schnedecker) Scanlan and Michael Scanlan. She was raised in Caledonia, MN along with eight siblings, Patrick (Grace) Scanlan; Richard "Dick" (Ann) Scanlan; Geri (Jerry) Townsend; Thomas (Heidi) Scanlan; Judi (Dale) Harrington; Daniel (Shelby) Scanlan; Michael "Mickie" (Corrine) Scanlan; James (Juanita) Scanlan.

Sally was a unique, colorful experience who was lovingly known as "Barefoot Sally." Capturing her essence is like trying to hold smoke in your hands. She was a rare bright light who loved expansively. She cultivated people and gardens, shaping many lives and planting many seeds in her 80 years. She never knew a stranger and always loved a visitor. Incandescent, she lit up every room and effortlessly filled many hearts with her love. She will always be remembered as embodying what it means to be truly home.

Sally had a successful real estate career in Kansas City, MO.

Sally married John Lee Berkley, Jr and together they raised two children, Brian Lee Berkley and Lily Joleen Berkley.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, and her son, Brian.

She is survived by her daughter, Lily, and her grandson, Quinn Rivers Bieberly.

A Celebration of Life was held at Meyers Funeral Chapel in Parkville, MO on December 1, 2025. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Caledonia, MN on Wednesday, December 3rd at 11am.
