Alberto L. Gloria

Alberto L. Gloria, Master Sergeant, USMC Retired, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the age of 61 years. He was born on June 28, 1946 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Modesto and Maria Gloria. He proudly served in the Marine Corps for 22 years until his retirement in August 1999. Albert was a parishioner of Most Precious Blood Church in Corpus Christi, Texas where he was honored to serve as a Knights of Columbus, Extra Ordinary Eucharistic Minister and an Usher. He was married for 39 years to his high school sweetheart Martha Martinez Gloria. He is preceded in death by his parents: Modesto Gloria, Maria Garza Gloria and brother; Gilbert Roland Gloria. Albert is survived by his loving wife: Martha Gloria; two daughters; Monica (Scott) Goers and Mishel (Rafael) Hernandez; son, A. Michael Gloria and six grandchildren; Gloria Alexandra Martinez, Hernan Martinez, Grayson Scott Goers, Ashly Gloria Magdaleno, Christian Anthony Magdaleno, and Matthew Albert Gloria. Also surviving are five brothers; Robert Gloria, Modesto (Anne Marie Elmose) Gloria, Jr., Joe E. Gloria, Timothy Gloria, John W. (Charity Smith) Gloria; four sisters; Lucilla Velasquez, Minerva Gloria, Mary Ester (Hector) Trevino, Irma Gloria (Christopher Bearfield). Public visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home, Holly chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2007 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
