Alfredo Flores II

Alfredo II Flores, 71, of Alice, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2005.He was preceded in death by his parents, Panfilo and Soledad Flores, a sister, Eusebia Flores, a brother, Francisco Flores and a daughter, Melissa Flores. Mr. Flores was a self-made man, a rancher and an educator. He went back to school later in life and achieved his goals in becoming an educator. He was a great father, and samaritan, an inspiration to those who knew him; a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, and husband, a fighter who fought his death till the end and valiantly battled his illness.He taught school for 24 years with the last 20 years teaching special education and bilingual education at Robstown ISD.He was a member of The Texas Educators Association and a political activist.He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Flores of Alice, Texas; five sons: Alfredo C. "Fred" (Rosie) Flores of Premont, Texas, Joe D. (Cindy) Flores of Ricardo, Texas, Samuel A. Flores of Lake Jackson, Texas, Fredrick N. (Trina) Flores of Calallen, Texas, and Joe A. (Priscilla) Flores of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Lori Ann Flores of Stanford, California and Gina Marie Flores of Austin, Texas; one brother, Guadalupe H. (Leonor) Flores of Bethany, Oklahoma. Survivors also include seven grandchildren: Joe David Flores, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Jacob Andrew Flores, Marco Ariel Flores, and Alyssa Nicole Flores all of Premont, Texas, Benjamin Arron Flores and Rebecca Monique Flores of Calallen, Texas, and Vanessa Pilar Flores of Corpus Christi, Texas.Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening at Chapel A., Ruben M. Garcia & Sons Funeral Services, Inc., 120 E. Front St.Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
