Andre Fuqua Obituary
Corpus Christi, TX
Andre Duane Fuqua, marathon runner, nature lover and student at Texas A&M Kingsville, left this earth too early for us to understand on January 26, 2017, at the young age of 25.
Andre was a native of Corpus Christi, graduated from Flour Bluff High School in 2010, and was currently attending Texas A&M Kingsville studying Kinesiology, with a desire to work with special needs children and coach track.
Andre, a self-proclaimed, "free spirited runner, who needed adventure without plans," was best known for his achievements in long distance running, his love for hiking in Big Bend, and big hearted, fun loving, generous personality.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Fred and Esther Quiroga, and grandfather, Frank Duane Fuqua.
He is survived by his parents, Gregg and Sheila Fuqua, and grandmother, Ingeborg Fuqua, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017, at First Baptist Church, 3115 Ocean Dr., Corpus Christi, Texas 78404, with Dr. Steve Hartwick officiating.

I didn't know Andre that well but he still made a big impression on me. My daughter ran cross country with him at Flour Bluff high school for four years and aside from being an incredible runner, Andre was such a leader, encouraging all his team mates to do their best. Andre was a friend to all and I will remember his big smile always. RIP!

Our neighborhood will never be the same. Andre was known and loved by all. He made himself a part of so many families, because he never met a stranger. He was friendly, outgoing, and so kind. He and Roo and then later B.B. would stop by on walks to visit even when our boys weren't home. We will miss his big smile and his bare feet;).
