Antonio Casas Obituary

CASAS Antonio "Tony" Casas Sr. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 8, 2010. He was born on September 13, 1919, in McFaddin, Texas to Rafael and Catarina Casas. After enlisting in the Army and serving World War II, Tony worked for Southern Minerals Oil Corp. Terminal for 25 years and then went on to work for HEB as a maintanence foreman until he retired. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Juan and Enrique Casas Sr.; sisters: Inez Casas, Martina Perez, Dolores Rojas, and Josefina Gonzalez; wife and mother of his children, Felicitas Gomez Casas; and by his wife of his sunset years, Aurelia Diaz Casas.He leaves to cherish his loving memories his sons: Antonio (Diana) Casas Jr. of San Antonio, Texas and Joe Casas of Robstown, Texas and his daughters: Lucy (Dempsey) Blackstock, Rosie (Victor) Calzadillas, and Beatrice (Rudy) Molina, all of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was also blessed and adored by his 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and another to be born any day now, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews whom enriched his life. Antonio was a devoted husband and father who loved accordion music and traveling with his family and friends. He was a well respected, kind, and generous man who will be greatly missed, never forgotten, and loved always by his family and all of those who knew him. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be conducted on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church with interment to follow at Rosehill Memorial Park with an honorable veteran's burial service.Pallbearers will be: Waldo Garza Jr., Isaac Garza, Adam Molina, Victor Calzadillas Sr., Danny Garcia Sr., and Henry Casas Jr.To view tribute please visit.www.corpuschristifh.com.
