Bennie Calvin Prater

PRATER Bennie Calvin Prater, 84, entered into eternal rest on September 17, 2009 in Bandera, TX. He was born on November 6, 1924 in Essex, Missouri. He served three years in the Seebees and was the owner of B & B Sheet Metal Co. for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin King Prater and Opal Daphna Pady Prater, a son, Patrick Douglas Prater as well as his love of his life, Marie Laura Little Prater. Bennie is survived by his two sons, Michael Allen Prater and wife Sylvia Prater of Pipe Creek, TX, Kenneth Jeffrey Prater and wife, Caryne Prater of Lakehills, TX and a sister, Betty Walker of Corpus. "Paw Paw" also left four grandchildren and their families, Carey Prater of San Francisco, CA, Stacy Prater and Bruce Warren of Kerrville, TX, Dustin Prater and wife Leah Prater of Spring Branch, TX, and Shaunna Rissmiller and husband Jimmy Rissmiller of Corpus. Six great-grandchildren, Aidan Prater, Abby Prater, Autumn Prater, Evan Rissmiller, Colton Rissmiller, and Carter Rissmiller. Bennie will be remembered by many for patronizing Buccaneer and Ayers Bowling Lanes, joining his friends in friendly poker games and many a day fishing on Mathis Lake with his dog, Maggie. He will greatly be missed by all of those who loved him as he is met in heaven by Marie.
