Billy Robbins Obituary
Violet - Billy Joe Robbins, age 92, passed away May 19, 2021. He was born on May 28, 1928 to Joe and Ora Robbins in Elgin, TX. He was raised in Elgin, TX and went on to join the Merchant Marines. He married his wife of 63 years on May 23, 1948. Billy Joe retired from Aransas Corpus Christi Pilots.
Billy Joe enjoyed going Elk hunting, fishing and automobiles. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Although he resided in Corpus Christi for most of his adult life, in 2019 he went to live with family in St. Bernard, LA, where he was surrounded by family until he was called home.
Billy Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Fulton and Ora Robbins; his wife, Odena Bihm Robbins; brothers, John T. and Pat Robbins; sisters, Larue Lentz, Faye Voight and Jenelle Shewatter.
He is survived by his son, Paul David Robbins; grandchildren, Paul Joe Fulton Robbins (Stacy) and Ebony Christine Robbins Ducote (Bobby); great-grandchildren, Kailie Robbins, Bobby Ducote, III. and Ryan Ducote, Sr. (Desi); Great-great-grandchildren, Brylie, Bobby, IV., Maddie, Ryan, Jr. and Rowen Ducote.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Seaside Reid Chapel with a Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. that same day. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Paul Robbins, Bobby Ducote, Jr., Bobby Ducote, III., Ryan Ducote, Sr., and Dean Johnson.
A special thank you for his part-time caregiver, Laura Gonsales-a beautiful person!
