Celinda Pena-Hohle Obituary
Celinda Anna Pena-Hohle, 45, of Dripping Springs, Texas embarked on the next chapter of her life on Thursday, October 30, 2003 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on March 19, 1958, in Falfurrias, Texas, to Yrineo Pena and Dalia Garcia-Pena. Celi graduated from Falfurrias High School in 1976 and graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, she began her teaching career at La Gloria School in La Gloria, Texas, where she was the first female football coach. After a few years, she moved to Austin and taught physical education at Houston, Palm, and Baranoff Elementary Schools. Celi inspired children to be fit and to have fun for 17 years. She will be remembered and honored by all of her schools and students whose lives she touched. On July 19, 1992, Celinda married Paul Hohle. They traveled extensively through the United States and Canada. During their marriage Celi and Paul resided in Dripping Springs, Texas and Waterford, Michigan. They enjoyed decorating their house, landscaping their yard, and attracting and watching Texas birds. Celinda was preceded in death by her mother, Dalia Garcia-Pena, her brother, David Pena, her nephew, Marco Pena, her father-in-law, Victor Hohle, her beloved dogs, Sol and Lucy, and her special kitty, Jabba. Celi is survived by her husband, Paul Hohle of Dripping Springs, Texas; her father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Yrineo Pena of Falfurrias, Texas; sister, Pamela Naranjo of Stafford, Texas; brothers, Alonzo Pena of Kingwood, Texas, and Daniel Pena of Kingsville, Texas; mother-in-law, Louise Hohle of Austin, Texas; brother-in-law, Glenn Hohle of Austin, Texas; sisters-in-law, Karen Hohle of Bertram, Texas, and Lisa Hohle of Urbana, Illinois; their spouses; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Sombra. A memorial for Celinda will be at Monday, November 3, 2003 at 5:00 P.M. at Hope Lutheran Church, 6414 North Hampton, Austin, Texas. A reception will follow at the church parish hall. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at another memorial in Falfurrias, Texas, at the family ranch on Saturday, November 8, 2003. Celinda requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Friends of Marco Pena, c/o Navy Army Federal Credit Union, 5725 Spohn Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78414 (Reference Number 791730).
