Cora Mae Simon

SIMON Cora Mae Simon, lovingly known as 'Peaches', age 86, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012. She was born June 22, 1925 in Bartlette, Texas to Sam Moore and Cornelius Walker. She accepted Christ and united with St. James Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Willie Harris. Peaches attended school in Bartlette, Texas. She worked and retired from Holiday Inn in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Cora is preceded in death by her husband, Penry 'Buck' Simon, a daughter, Sandra Gail Salone and a sister, Tessie Mae East. Cora leaves to cherish her memories, son, Ricky (Sonji) Simon of Pearland, Texas, daughter, Willie Mae Mayze of La Grange, Texas, two grandchildren, Ryan Simon and Cara Simon of Pearland, Texas, two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Margie Harris of Corpus Christi, Texas and Mrs. Velma Rose of Houston, Texas, a special cousin, Marshall (Wanda) McCoy, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with family to receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. that same evening.
