Dinah Pascal Obituary

PASCAL Dinah Lee Filkins Pascal passed from this world on March 27 2010. She was born on March 14th, 1934 in Independence Kansas to James Fredrick Filkins and Wilma Blanch Heasom (Lee) Filkins. She is proceeded in death by her parents, her dear daughter Lee Ann and her brother Dr. James Heasom Filkins. Survivors are her beloved husband Harold Saunders (Pete) Pascal of Corpus Christi, her dear daughter Tracey Michele Pascal, two granddaughters, a great grandson, four nieces and two nephews.The family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, when Dinah was born, living there twelve years until being transferred to suburban Chicago. There she graduated from Lyons Township High School and for two years attended Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and a band majorette.Upon death of her father, the family moved to Dallas, Texas, and Dinah attended Southern Methodist University, where she met and married Pete. Upon his graduation and commissioning in The U.S. Army, they began an adventure of worldwide travel lasting nearly two decades and had the joy of adding two beautiful daughters to their lives. During this time she achieved her Bacholor of Arts in History, from Armstrong State University, in Savannah, Georgia and was selected for membership in the History Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta.Retirement brought them to Padre Island. The view of the water and golf course, from their home back windows brought back memories of her Hole-In-One in 1959 and her interest in history led to her membership in the Corpus Christi chapter of The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).Internment will be at a later date at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery. No public services are planned locally. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her name to the local chapter of DAR.
