To Ralph and Family: I truly do not know where to begin. Edie was more than a shining light, she was a beacon. Edie gave so much to do many. When I first met her, she was attending a Corpus Christi Nursing School and in love with a sailor named Ralph. I don't know Ralph if you remember that Edie took care of your friends with cakes, meals and the best of all friendship to others who were so far from home. Edie was unreal in her caring for others. In 1970 when we got out of The USN, I knew you were in the best hands who loved so much.
I feel your loss so strongly and so happy that you have yours sons and family by your side in the days to come. Please take time for memories and family talks. It is said time is the best healer. Ralph, our prayers are with you and your family.
You do know that I owe Edie my life. Who else would save me from being hit by a bus in Prague two years ago. I know her love she is still there for so many of us. She will never be forgotten. Your friends for life, Ron and Ione

I would like to say that I admired Edie. She was everyone’s friend. She was not picky about us....she loved us all. She had a quiet strength about her, and you just knew when she passed by, that she would automatically smile. Edie is the person we all want to be...determined, kind, considerate, and genuinely a good person. Because we all knew her and loved her, maybe we are better people, and maybe that was her purpose in life.
