Emil P. Nemec, Jr., 59, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Monday, June 23, 2003 at home surrounded by family and friends, due to Alzheimer's complications. He was born June 29, 1943 in Pasadena, Texas, and grew up in Robstown, Texas. Mr. Nemec graduated from St. Edwards University in Austin and served in the National Guard for 6 years. He was employed as an accountant in the Oil and Gas Division of Texaco in Houston, Texas for 10 years, then returned to Corpus Christi where he owned and operated Toddy Shoppe, Inc. for 23 years. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Robstown, S.P.J.S.T., the Texas Package Store Association, and St. Edwards University Alumni Association in Austin. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jacob, Frances and Elizabeth Nemec, Janie and Adolph Vana and his brother-in-law, Ron Watts. He is survived by his wife, Susie Nemec of Corpus Christi; children, Stephanie (Joe Jr.) Christina of Corpus Christi, Amanda Nemec of Maui, Hawaii, Stephen (Angela) Stryk of Corpus Christi and Laura Stryk of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Catherine and Caitlyn Christina and Sydney Stryk; his parents, Emil Sr. and Frances Nemec of Robstown; his brother, Ronny (Barbara) Nemec of Robstown; his sister, Karen Watts of Corpus Christi; nieces and nephews, Becky (Brian) Hammond, Lesli (Ben) Gwynn, Erron and Tia Watts. Visitation will begin at 9 A.M. Thursday with the Rosary to be recited at 7:30 P.M. Thursday in Sawyer-George Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3 P.M. Friday, June 27, 2003 in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Robstown. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jay Wesson, Rich Mazur, Ed Weber, Ben Gwynn, Brian Hammond, Erron Watts, Ronnie Regmund and Ray Liska.
