Henry P. Hooper Comfort , TXHenry Pickens Hooper, III, age 84 of Comfort, Texas passed away on April 28, 2013 in Kerrville, Texas. He was born in rural Williamson County to Myrtle Sorenson Hooper and Henry P. Hooper, II on October 6, 1928. He married Elvira Stern on August 27, 1949 in Taylor, Texas.After graduating from Hutto High School as salutatorian (Elvira was valedictorian), Henry graduated from Southwest Texas State Teachers College. He joined the family dairy business near Hutto, then worked for many years for the USDA, retiring as District Manager. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Henry and Elvira lived in Kingsville for 46 years before moving to the Comfort/Kerrville area in March, 2012. He was an active member of the Lutheran Church.Henry is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Elvira Stern Hooper, son, Henry 'Buddy' Hooper, IV and parents, Myrtle and Henry Hooper, II.Henry is survived by his son, David Hooper (Janet) of Comfort; daughter, Kathy Uhles (Perry) of Highland Village, Texas; two grandsons, Jonathan Hooper and Steven Uhles and two granddaughters, Melissa Hooper and Katherine Uhles. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, May 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St Paul Lutheran Church, 521 E. Doddridge, Kingsville, Texas with Rev.
