Homer Gonzalez Obituary
Corpus Christi - Homer R. Gonzalez, 84 yrs old, passed away 05 May 2021. He was born on 22 August 1936 to Florencio and Gudelia Gonzalez in Nuevo Laredo, Tamps, Mexico. He was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from Ray High School. He also received his Bachelor's Degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX. He served in the U.S. Navy during Berlin Crisis and was proud to serve on the U.S.S. Wren.
Homer married his wife, Maria Guadalupe Garcia Beaujean, of 61 years on 26 November 1959. He was employed by the Texas Department of Human Resources, for 35 years, as Senior Director until he retired. Homer was a loving husband, dad, brother, and grandfather.
Homer enjoyed family gatherings, taking care of his fruit trees, fishing, traveling the world, serving people as he was a Red Cross Volunteer, and working hard. He will always be remembered for his laughter, kindness to the homeless and to animals, and strong work ethic as he started his own business (Gonzalez and Associates) 30 days after he retired.
Homer is preceded in death by his parents, Florencio Gonzalez, Sr. and Gudelia R. Gonzalez; as well as siblings, Florencio Gonzalez, Jr. and Carmen Trevino.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Guadalupe G. Gonzalez; daughters, Maria Gonzalez Lozano (spouse Joe Lozano) and Edna Gloria Gonzalez Warhola (spouse Robert Warhola, II.); his best friend/brother, Rene Gonzalez, Sr.; grandchildren, Lauren Marie Warhola and Robert Warhola, III.; and his beloved dog, Franky, II.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, 10 May 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A recitation of the Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, 11 May 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are; Rene Gonzalez, Jr., J.J. Gonzalez, Joe Lozano, Robert Warhola, II., Robert Warhola, III., and Robert Beaujean.

Thank you to everyone who has called to express their condolences and to share stories of what my dad meant to you and why. I will forever cherish his memory, now including your memories too. I am grateful to have had a wonderful dad, and especially fortunate to have him as a mentor and loving father for so many years.
