JOHN COOK Obituary

John D. Cook Sr.Spring, TXJohn Dudley Cook Sr., died July 15, 2016, after a long battle with heart disease and other related illnesses. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, John graduated from Ray High School in 1958, after spending part of his youth in San Antonio, and Hot Springs, Arkansas. John served in the US Navy as a Naval EMT from 1958-1963. John had great admiration for his fellow servicemen and was very honored to serve his country. After his military career, John met the love of his life, Cecilia Krnavek and they began to raise a family. He had a 26 year career with DuPont in Ingleside, Texas, retiring in 1998 after suffering his first heart illness. During John's time with us he took great pride in watching his five children participate in numerous sporting events and became a well-known figure at community sporting events in Corpus Christi, Taft, and Gregory Portland, Texas. In his latter years, John moved to Spring, Texas, to be closer to his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them as well.John fought a very hard battle during his last years and, especially, his last days. His family and friends can attest that his fight, discipline, and patriotism he learned from the Navy never left him. John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cecilia (Krnavek) Cook, his son, John (JD) Cook Jr., and his wife, Jessica, his son, James David Cook and wife, Melody, his daughter, Janelle Denise Cook, his son, Jerry Douglas Cook and Kristi, and his daughter, Jennifer Dawn Jacobson and husband, Doug.
