OCHOA Josefina 'Fina' Alvarado Ochoa, wife, mother, sister, friend, compassionate and devoted nurse left this Earth, Friday, March 27, 2009 surrounded by family to our Lord's Kingdom and the promise of eternal life. Fina was born in Corpus Christi to Guadalupe and Romana Alvarado on April 14, 1935. She was a LVN for 36 years. She worked at Memorial Medical Center for over 25 years and worked the remainder of her career at Sunnybrook Healthcare Center where she especially loved working with her Alzheimer patients. She is preceded in death by her parents: Guadalupe and Romana Alvarado; siblings: Antonia (Pascual) Munoz, Jose Alvarado and Lydia (Andres) Castellano, nephews, Luis Alvarado and Brian C. Landon. Survivors include her loving husband of 42 years, David C. Ochoa; daughter, who will especially miss her, Sandra Lee Ochoa; granddaughters: Sarah Leann Vasquez and Savannah Jade Vasquez all of Corpus Christi, Texas. She also leaves behind two brothers: Lupe (Santos) Alvarado of Robstown, Texas and Luis (Lydia) Alvarado of Corpus Christi, Texas; a very special sister, Angelita (Tom) Channell of Las Vegas, Nevada; mother-in-law, Ramona Ramirez of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters-in-law: Betty (Emilio) Guajardo of Houston, Texas and Yolanda (Mayo) Gutierrez of Corpus Christi, Texas and numerous other family and friends. A special thanks to nephews, Albert and Edward Alvarado and niece, Carmen Alvarado who were very attentive to her needs in her last days here with us. The family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Angel Bright Hospice for providing compassionate care during her last few days of life. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., on Monday, March 30, 2009 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M., that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Albert Alvarado, Edward Alvarado, Luis Alvarado, Jr., Juan Alvarado, Wence Castellano and Gustavo Munoz.
