Karen K. SticeCorpus Christi, TXKaren Sue (Kimball) Stice, age 75, passed away June 8, 2016. She was born on July 14, 1940, to Noah and Helen (Adams) Kimball in Canton, Oklahoma. Karen was a woman of grace, community and music. She held her friends close and loved her family with all her heart and soul.Karen's love of music began as a little girl; her mother, who was the church organist for 40 years, started all her children on the piano at a very young age. Her father was the church choir director and a member of the church quartet. After graduating from Canton High School in 1958 Karen went on to get her BS in General Business with a minor in music from Southwestern State College in Weatherford, OK, graduating 1963. From college she moved to Oklahoma City, OK where she joined the OKC Chorus (Sweet Adelines). She later moved to Tulsa, OK to begin a new job with Public Service Company of Oklahoma; while there she joined the Tulsa Sweet Adelines Chorus, where she would become the Director of the Chorus. One of her most treasured accomplishments was being a member of the National Competing quartet, After-Five Four, and placing in the International Sweet Adeline Medals competition in Hawaii. From Tulsa Karen was transferred to Dallas, Texas, for her job with Central and Southwest Services; where she was the Manager of Employment and Compensation. After meeting and marrying the love of her life, C. Wayne Stice, she retired in 1988. In 1989 they moved to Corpus Christi where she joined the CC Chorale and volunteered her time at Bay Shore Hospital. They were both active in the Corpus Christi Town Club and Pharaoh Valley Neighborhood Assoc. It was soon realized that their neighborhood was unusually different; neighbors would become more than just the family next door, deep close supportive friendships were born. They also joined the membership of All Saints' Episcopal Church and built a strong relationship with this church community. Karen was an active member of the All Saints Choir, composed many music liturgies and worked with the Director of the children's choir. Karen enjoyed sharing her talents and contributing in any way she could. To give her time and of herself brought much joy. Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Charles Wayne Stice, her brother, Richard Kimball, and sister-in-law, Jo Kimball. She is survived by daughter, Kelly Jo Rogers, granddaughter, Christin McClure and her husband Quinten, grandson, Tyler Rogers, and great-granddaughter, Cora May McClure, her brothers, Wesley 'Red' Kimball, Curtis Kimball and wife Judy, sister-in-law, Peggy Kimball, two nephews and four nieces.
