M.S. DeGaish Obituary

M.S. DeGaish

Corpus Christi, TX

It was early morning Friday, April 27, 2018 the Lord called to our beloved one and gently carried him from this earth to his new home.

It is with great sorrow but greater joy that we announce our undying love to this beautiful person we call Honey, Dad, Daddy, Gido, Uncle, Mr. De, brother and friend you are in our hearts forever.

"De" was born on November 10, 1928 in Sweetwater, Texas. He attended Sweetwater Schools and Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. He was a star athlete and loved football. He served in the United States Marine Corp as a Sargeant during the Korean War. He was a very proud marine "Semper Fi". He also served in the Texas National Guard.

De became a successful retail merchant and marketer. He was well known as "Mr. De" during his career. He was always a gentleman, honest and true. He was very generous to all and supported many charities. His greatest love was God and family, but he also loved sports and playing cards with his poker buddies.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Michael (Ann)DeGaish; daughter, Denese (Gary) Eckhardt; grandchildren (light of his life), Austin DeGaish, Jeremy DeGaish, Drew (Kendall) Eckhardt and Todd (Grace) Eckhardt; "The Babies" Great Grands, Blakely, Easton, Crawford and Ellie Eckhardt; sister, Mary Saied; brother, Melade (Mary D.) DeGaish; many nieces and nephews (he loved as his own) and cousins. Also, the "Divine" Ms. Amber David, his adopted daughter, friend and guide through a long, difficult illness.

He will join in heaven his angel, daughter, Linda DeGaish, nephew/son, Mark DeGaish, parents, Lorece and Shaff DeGaish, brother-in-law, Alex Saied, sister-in-love, Najla Saied and many relatives and friends (being 89 and all).

The family invites you to Seaside Memorial Park and Funeral Home on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. (come at 12:30 to visit) for a Funeral Rosary and Celebration of Life with Monsignor Roger Smith officiating. A Military burial with honor guard will follow immediately.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or St. Patricks Church, 3350 S. Alameda, Corpus Christi, Texas 78411, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, stjude.org.

Finally, our sincere appreciation to, Rene Towns, his spiritual representative and doctors: Steven Barth, Robert Madry, Paxton Longwell and their staffs. The wonderful Kindred Hospice Group and special friends, Merle and Dennis Lowe for their care and support.
