Martha Marie Demmer Thielhorn

Martha Marie Demmer Thielhorn was called to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 11, 2004. She was born in Woodsboro, Texas on March 10, 1924 to father, Roy Demmer and mother, Sarah Hill. Martha attended Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas. She retired from Sun Oil in 1984 after 30 and a half years of service. Martha was a dedicated member of Desk and Derrick Club for 30 years having held a perfect attendance record as well as numerous offices including Director, President, Treasurer and Region IV Director. One of the highlights of Martha's career was being selected to receive the Nueces County Jr. Bar association "Liberty Bell Award" in 1977 for her responsible citizenship program presentation. Martha was state delegate to both the Democrat and Republican Conventions. She was a national delegate to the Republican Convention. Our mother was a true example of unconditional love for our family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.She is preceded in death by her eldest child, Dale Carpenter; and her parents, Roy Demmer and Sarah Hill.She is survived by her life long partner of 52 years, H.G.(Doug) Thielhorn of Corpus Christi, Texas; her son, Bill (Cindy) Thielhorn of Houston, Texas; her daughters, Cheryl (Terry) McNatt of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kathy (Mike) Meneley of Laredo, Texas, and Teri Ralls of Corpus Christi, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2004 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Memorial Rosary at 7:00 p.m. to be celebrated that same evening. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 7522 Everhart Rd. Corpus Christi, Texas on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Woodsboro, Texas at 4:00 p.m.In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association, and Vista Care Hospice in Corpus Christi, Texas.
