Corpus Christi - Mary Ann Yzaguirre, age 77, passed away on March 21, 2021, She was born on September 29, 1943 to Mary Torres and Richard Gonzales. Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother that loved unconditionally and cherished family time to make new memories. Mary Ann will always be remembered for her kind hearted spirit and her love for traveling. She will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

In 1974, Mary Ann received her associates of arts from Del Mar College and in 1977, Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi. Mary Ann continued her education and in 1985, graduated from Corpus Christi State University with her Master of Science/Counseling, and in 1994, she received her Master of Science in Nursing at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. Mary Ann has been a member of Sigma Theta Tau, since 1984. Along with many of Mary Ann's accomplishments, she was also a certified member of the National Certification for Diabetic Educators, member #1243.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, George A. Yzaguirre, of 55 years, two sons, George Yzaguirre Jr. (Veronica) and Christopher Yzaguirre (Karly). She was blessed with five grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, Michael, William and Lauren. Mary Ann is also survived by her aunt, Olivia Martinez, cousins, Yvonne Martinez and Gloria Jean.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
