Mauro Guillen Obituary

Mauro H. Guillen, age 82, was called by his lord and savior on Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Mauro was an active member, Usher, and Lector for Christ the King Catholic Church, and a past Lector at Holy Family Catholic Church. He loved to play his guitar for all to hear. He is a retired employee of Gulf Star Foundries. Mauro was a member of Greenwood Senior Center, Nueces County Senior Citizens Association, and Greenwood Site Council. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eloisa M. Guillen, parents Eusebio Guillen and Hilaria Guillen; brothers Eusebio Guillen Jr., and Roberto Guillen; and two sisters, Elida Guillen, and Santos St. Clair. He is survived by his five daughters, Elva G. Figueroa, Irma (Dan) Nye, Margie (Brian) Key, Eloisa E. Guillen, Yolanda Huerta; three sons, Ruben (Phyllis) Guillen, Reynaldo (Grace) Guillen, and Robert (Doris) Guillen; brother, Espiridion Guillen; sisters, Juana Guillen, Manuela Guillen, Josefina Cortez and Simona Salinas; half-sister, Delia (Rudy) Cantu; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; close niece, Maria Luisa Guillen; and numerous nephews, and nieces who will miss him dearly. The family will be receiving friends at Treviño Funeral Home on Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2008; with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
