Nancy Katherine Grebe

GREBE Nancy Katherine Grebe age 70, a resident of Taft, Texas passed away November 13, 2010. She was born on November 16, 1939 in Taft, Texas to Royce Reeves McDonald and Marjorie B. McDonald. She attended Texas A&I University where she met and married Herbert Otto Grebe, Jr., on October 17, 1959, and they moved to Taft in 1961 where they lived for over fifty years. Nancy was raised on the family owned business, the McDonald Cotton Gin where she helped up to the sale of the gin in 1971. She then worked in the grain industry as an office manager with Taft Grain and Planters Coop for over thirty years. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Taft as well as the Taft Women's Club. Nancy raised two wonderful sons, Trey and Clay. When they got married, Nancy finally got the daughters she had always wanted, Kim and Debbie. Nancy has five grandsons, Brandon Hopkins of Austin Texas, Travis and Trevor Grebe of Marble Falls, Texas, and Tommy and Scott Grebe of Enid, Oklahoma.She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; her parents; in-laws, Herbert Otto Grebe, Sr. and Bertha Kratz Grebe.Nancy is survived by her two sons, daughters-in-law, and five grandsons; sister, Shirley (Ed) Wiggins of Conroe, Texas; brother, Royce (Sue) McDonald of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law, H.B. Grebe of Canton, Georgia; sister-in-law, Betty Lou Summerlin of Garland, Texas.Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Taft, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at The First Baptist Church of Taft with Rev. Dale Pogue and Rev. David Parrie officiating. Burial will follow in Portland, Texas at San Patricio Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brandon Hopkins, Travis and Trevor Grebe, Tommy and Scott Grebe, Jim Wiggins, Scott and Mike McDonald.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Texas Children's Home, P.O.
