Ramiro Quintero Obituary

Ramiro "Ray" J. Quintero passed away on December 24, 2004 at the age of 56, after a year and a half long battle with cancer.Mr. Quintero was born on January 10, 1948 in Karnes City, Texas to Noe and Julia Quintero, and raised with his three brothers Noe, Omar, and Willie, and his sister Belinda. He graduated from Gregory-Portland High School in 1965 and Texas A&I in 1969. Upon graduation, he received a commission as a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army. Soon afterwards, he would marry the love of his life, Estella Garcia Quintero.Mr. Quintero would serve as an armor officer, and a counter-intelligence officer in Germany. After his time of service, he would work for over 30 years in the field of Human Resources. He would work for many companies, including Levis Strauss, local Horton Automatics, and finally Springs Ind. in Charlotte, North Carolina.Mr. Quintero is survived by his wife Estella, oldest son Jason (Melanie) Quintero, youngest son Matthew, daughter Melissa (Michael) Tanner, and his beautiful granddaughter Elizabeth Quinn Tanner.Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Seaside Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited that same evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 31, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Seaside Memorial Park.
