Rema Martin Obituary
MARTIN Sinton, Texas On June 7, 2010, Rema D. Martin a long time resident of Sinton, Texas, put on her angel wings and went to Heaven. Rema was born December 14, 1942 in Aransas Pass, Texas to Frank and Tina Howard. Rema was known and recognized to this day by many former Welder Elementarystudents as Mrs. Martin their PE teacher and Gymnastics teacher. Rema began her San Patricio County career with the County Extension office, County Treasurer,and retired from the County Clerk's office as Chief Deputy. Rema worked at JFK until her official retirement in 2007. Rema never met a stranger and she loved life. She was a caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Tina Howard and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Daveand Loma Martin. She is cherished by her husband of 50 years, G. David Martin, Sr. of Sinton, her daughter, Tina Bracht and husband, Alan of Rockport,her sons, G. David "Bubba" Martin, Jr. and wife, Cynthia and Mark S. Martin all of Sinton, five grandchildren,Kati (Mike) Wiley of Corpus Christi, Beth Martin and Cody Martin of Sinton, Heather Martin Nuss and Chad Martin of Portland three great grandchildren,Jillian Wiley,Brent and Reagan Nuss, two sisters, Mable (John) Smith of Florida and Franke (Max) Slaughter of Ingleside, numerous nieces and nephews. Rema cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to give "Many Thanks" to all the medical staff and Doctors at Spohn Shoreline 5 East.Special Thanks to Dr.Ghraowi and staff and Dr.Estefan Konasiewicz for their continuous efforts to never give up. Visitation will began on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with a holy rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sinton. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Beeville.
