Richard G. Wilburn
Richard G. Wilburn, age 76, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2005.He was born on October 18, 1928 to Fred A. and Paula Wilburn in Tobey, Texas. He retired as a foreman from the City of Corpus Park Division after 28 years of service. He also worked at Nueces News Agency for 20 years as a cabinet maker. He had a great joy for the outdoors and enjoyed camping especially at Bee Camp with his family. He also enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing and playing video games.His favorite holidays were Easter Sundays with his family gatherings at his ranch in Mathis. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Diana Wilburn and sisters, Inez Hernandez and Paula Wilburn.He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elda V. Wilburn; his children, Elizabeth Rodriguez (Robert) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Richard V. Wilburn (Sylvia) of Orange Grove, Texas, Angel Wilburn (Edna) of Corpus Christi, Texas , Daniel Wilburn (Linda) of Mathis,Texas, Michael Wilburn (Dora), Debra Leal (Ovidio), Cynthia Garcia (Reynaldo) all of Corpus Christi, Texas and Priscilla Hernandez (Billy) of Lubbock, Texas. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; brothers, Fred A. Wilburn (Lucille), Charles Wilburn (Petra) and Euesbio Wilburn (Virginia); sisters, Consuelo Segovia, Esperanza Hernandez (Steve), Emma Garcia (Reynaldo), Frances Martinez, Isabel Decker and Rosa Wilburn.Public visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2005 at Memorial Funeral Home, Holly chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Rites of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2005 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Robert Rodriguez, Richard A. Wilburn, Roland Garza, Christopher Garcia, Reinaldo Garcia and great grandson, Benito Marinez, III. Honorary pallbearer will be his grandson, Robert Molina.
