Rodrigo Cantu Obituary

Rodrigo Cantu, Jr., 59, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born August 20, 1947 in Falfurrias, Texas to Rodrigo Cantu, Sr. and Aurora Perez Cantu. Rodrigo was a retired inspector with the Texas Department of Transportation after 35 years, a Catholic, and a resident of Robstown previously of Gregory. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and camping, and especially spending time with all of his loving family. He was a very loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife: Becky Cantu of Robstown, Texas; his children: Cynthia (Don) Canchola of Corpus Christi, Texas, Nora (Jesse) Lopez and Desiree Kimbrue Cantu both of Robstown, Texas, Melissa Bates of Pflugerville, Texas, John (Becky) Nichols of Austin, Texas; his father: Rodrigo (The Late Aurora Cantu) Cantu, Sr. of Falfurrias, Texas; one brother: Roel Cantu of Falfurrias, Texas; two sisters: Elia (Joe) Trevino of Alice, Texas and Elma (Frank) Gallegos of Gregory, Texas. He was also blessed and adored by his eight grandchildren: Steven, Mathew, and Michael Melendez, Andrew, Albert, and Arnold Lopez, Ashley Nichols, John Jacob Nichols, one great-grandson: Astin Nichols, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2006 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2006 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Interment will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.
