Ruth Gunnar Obituary
Corpus Christi - Ruth Anna Gunnar, age 66, passed away on Sunday February 21, 2021 after a battle with breast cancer. Known to friends and family as Nita, she was born August 1, 1954 to Dale and Iluminada. Nita was born and raised in the Philippines before coming to the US. She will always be remembered for her love of cooking & dancing, her kind & selfless nature and devotion to her family.
Nita is preceded in death by her parents Dale & Iluminada.
She is survived by her children Allison and Marc, and siblings, Manriquito, Fredric, and Jenney.
A memorial service mass will be held on Friday March 5 at 10am at St. Pius X Church. Reception to follow at the parish hall.
The family requests you forgo traditional black attire at the memorial. We welcome guests to wear your favorite & colorful Sunday best to honor and celebrate Nita's life.

Jenney, Frederic and Manriquito, I am so sorry about Nita. When I read the obits today all I could remember were the good times we had working together at your shop. Please know that I am not living in Corpus Christi. I live in Austin right now. And I have thought about you all many times as I have a photo of your mom and some ladies from a special group. I will always remember Nita, your mom, and dad during the work deadlines we all made sure were completed on time. May Nita rest in peace. She will be missed. Norma Jean Sierra
