San Garcia Obituary
On September 2,2007, with all her family at her bedside, the Lord called a beautiful and courageous woman, San Juanita "Janie" Garcia, home to be with him after a tremendous two year battle with cancer. He saw that her eyes were weary, tired and no cure to be found and getting well on earth was impossible. Janie was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on August 20, 1957. She married in 1989 to Ramiro Garcia Sr. She was an awesome mom and devotional wife. She always had a big heart and tried to help any one that came to her with a need. She was famous for her Gene Simmons like tongue and her funny faces that would end up on most pictures taken of her. Her love for her favorite character Garfield was evident as she displayed Garfield all over her bedroom along with Ramiro’s Sr. MandM collection. She will be deeply missed and loved but never forgotten. Her parents Mr. and Mrs. Roberto G. Ybarra Sr., her great niece Mariana Leal, precede her in death. She is survived by her husband of twenty-three years, Ramiro R. Garcia Sr., two daughters, Valerie M. (Jamaal), Rubio, Veronica M. (Frank) Gonzalez, two sons, Ramiro R. (Maritiza) Garcia Jr., Robert J. (Ashley) Garcia. Five grandchildren, Brittany, Brandi, Alex, Savahana,Jermiah, and Baby Garcia (not born yet), three sisters, Martha Imelda Ybarra, Maria Y. Perez, Angie (Robert) Sanchez, all from Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers. Robert (Brenda) Ybarra and Cristoval (Tracy) Ybarra from Willis, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews and very many close friends who loved her dearly. Public visitation is scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2007 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. the same night at Guardian. Funeral service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2007 at Guardian Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest next to her parents. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the nursing staff and Doctors at Spohn Shoreline 7th floor cancer unit. Bay Area Heart Hospital ICU, Corpus Christi Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Odyssey Home Health. Special thank you to Dr. Jesse Garcia who came in at the end of her care but gave his heart and dedication to Janie’s health care.
