Simon Martinez Rangel

RANGEL Aransas Pass, TexasSimon Martinez Rangel passed away on February 25, 2011. Simon was born on April 29, 1926 in Purisima Guanajoto, Mexico to Gregorio and Marina Rangel. He had been a resident of Aransas Pass since 1949. Simon retired from Brown & Root and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aransas Pass.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Esperanza, and one brother, Hilario Rangel. He is survived by six sons: Simon R. Rangel, Jr., Ernesto Rangel, Juan (Julie) Rangel, Gregorio (Yolanda) Rangel, Jesus (Angel) Rangel and Guadalupe Rangel, all of Aransas Pass; six daughters: Antonia (Gilberto) Preciado of San Antonio, Irene (James) Music of San Antonio, Marina (Raymundo) Retta of Aransas Pass, Emily Rangel of Plano, Patsy (Larry) Bustos of Aransas Pass and Norma (Dale) Lodrigue of Aransas Pass; brother, Eleuterio (Virginia) Rangel of Laredo; thirty-nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 12 Noon to 9:00 p.m., with Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Aransas Pass.A Mass will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011, 2:00 p.m., at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Aransas Pass.Interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass.Arrangements are entrusted to: Charlie Marshall Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 2003 W.
