William Edgaar Thielhorn

THIELHORN William Edgar "Bill" Thielhorn, 61, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 17, 2010, in Houston, Texas. Bill was born on September 22, 1948, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was son to the late H.G. Thielhorn and Martha Demmer Thielhorn. Bill grew up in Corpus Christi and was a King High School graduate of 1967. Following high school, he graduated from Texas A&I University and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity where he met his best friend and love, Cynthia Evans Thielhorn. They were married on June 17, 1972; through this union three children were born. He had a passion for family, friends and a deep love for his seven grandchildren.He developed many relationships in the natural gas compression industry. Bill began his career with Nalco Chemical in 1980 and held several sales, operations and managerial positions with various compression companies over his 30 year career. He enjoyed his final position with J-W Operating Company as the south Texas regional manager. Bill was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and barbecuing on the back porch of his Guadalupe River house in Seguin, Texas. You would often find him wearing burnt orange cheering for the Texas Longhorns each fall. He made many memories traveling with Cindy and his children and had a particular fondness for the Rocky Mountains and the beaches of Kauai.He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dale Carpenter.He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cynthia Evans Thielhorn; children, Aaron Thielhorn (wife Lara Marie), Michelle Thielhorn Parker (husband Mike), and Kelly Thielhorn Surratt (husband Patrick); grandchildren, Connally, Eloise, Cate, Travis, Lucie, Caroline and Tessa; sisters, Cheryl McNatt, Kathy Meneley, and Teri Shannon; and numerous nieces and nephews.The family welcomes visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday September 23, 2010 at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Dr., Spring, Texas 77379.(281-320-2674) with a Vigil service to begin at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday September 24, 2010 at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 19222 State Hwy 249, Houston (77070).Memorials may be made to the National Park Foundation.
