Eugene Mitchan Obituary
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022, at St. Monica Catholic Church with Rev. Barry Cuba officiating. Burial will follow in St. Monica Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home.
Mr. Mitchan was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Milam County to Albert and Celeste (Hubnik) Mitchan. He had worked in the automotive industry all his life. On April 29, 1950, he married Grace Leonard. He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eugene Albert "Bubbie" Mitchan Jr.; and a grandson, Montana Jordan Mitchan.
He is survived by: wife, Grace Mitchan of Cameron; children, Pamela Peschel of Georgetown, Cindy Malota and husband Larry of College Station, Scott Mitchan and wife Joni of Cameron, Gerry Mitchan and wife Kim of Cameron, Timothy Mitchan and wife Lisa of Giddings, and Laura Mitchan of Cameron; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
