Travis Wade MacKinnon, 47, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2021, with his three favorite girls by his side. Travis was born in Florence, Colorado on December 28, 1973, to Gene and Gayle (Palmer) MacKinnon. He grew up playing sports and riding his motorcycle with his older brother, Clint, and friends in the hills west of Florence. In high school, Travis enjoyed working hard and held down three jobs his sophomore through senior years. He spent each summer as a lifeguard for the City of Florence and worked at DiRito's Italian Restaurant and Skyline Superfoods during the school year. After graduating from Florence High School in 1992, Travis moved to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue an arts degree. His love for architecture led him to Linderoth Associates Architects, where he spent 25 years working as a Senior Project Manager and eventually became a shareholder. Travis leaves behind his wife of 15 years, Theresa; 13-year-old twin daughters, Ashley and Danielle; parents, Gene and Gayle MacKinnon of Florence, CO; brother, Clint (Angela) of Edmond, OK; grandma, Gwynn Palmer of Mesa, AZ; uncles, Dean (Jenny) of Rockvale, CO, Steve (Tracy) of Midwest City, OK, and Richard of Port St. Joe, FL; aunt, Kay of Dodge City, KS; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a very special friend, Coach Paul Villagrana of Florence, CO. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, both grandfathers, three uncles, two aunts, three cousins, and his professional mentor, Terry Linderoth. A memorial service was held in Gilbert, Arizona at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the Falconer Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the United Methodist Church: 1032 East Main Street in Florence, CO. Interment will follow services at the Union Highland Cemetery in Florence, CO. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Florence Volunteer Fire Department: 300 West Main Street, P.O. Box 323, Florence, CO 81226. We are so sorry to hear that you, Gail and Gene have lost a son. There are no words to imagine losing a child. That has to be unbearably sad to say the least. The few times that we were around him was nothing but pure pleasure. He will be forever missed, our condolences doesn't seem to be enough said, all our love Jean and Bob B.
