William Earl Bloom
1939 - 2021
William E. Bloom, 82, of Security Colorado died Nov. 1, 2021. He was born in Texline, TX to Earl K. Bloom and Alice F. (Millhollin) Bloom on Feb. 21, 1939. Mr. Bloom was a member for many years of B.P.O. Elks Canon City Lodge #610, serving as Exalted Ruler 1977 - 78, and was a long-term member of F.O. Eagles Canon City Airie #2123 PWP 1969. Bill graduated Canon City High School in 1957 then served in the U.S. Navy in the Submarine Service, from 1957 - 1967. He owned and operated Dale's Radiator Service in Colorado Springs for several years, after retiring from Pueblo Army Depot. After retirement he took enjoyment as the role of professional Santa working from Thanksgiving to Christmas at malls in PA, TX and CO. Bill enjoyed family gatherings, including a multi-year annual BBQ he and brother-in-law and dear friend Jim Clark affectionately called the "Bloom 'n Clark Pig Roast". Family and friends looked forward to it each year. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Ladocia (Dodie) J. Bloom, Sister Norma Craig, Colorado Springs, Sister Mary Alice (Jim) Clark of Colorado Springs, Daughters, Tammy (Dan) Higgins Howard Co, Terry (JB) Fleming Havana, AR, Son, Jerry (Michelle) Means Brighton CO, 8 Grand Children and 14 Great Grand Children and a special Niece, Cary (Raul) Diaz, Colorado Springs, CO. Bill was preceed in death by his parents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and 2 granddaughters. Services will be a private family arrangement with date and location TBD. In lieu of flowers Donations can be made to the Elks Foundation or the F.O. Eagles Max Baer Heart Fund. Cards of condolences may be sent to Dodie Bloom, 4455 Hennings Dr., Security, CO 80911.

Dear Dodie, family and friends of Bill´s, On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Bill´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" leaves on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor on the USS Sea Fox SS-402 and USS Barbero SS-317. To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country. Dodie...
