Albert Rex Obituary

Albert Rex
of Naples, Fla., and formerly of Massillon, Ohio, died in his sleep the morning of Feb. 22, 2012. Albert was 81 years old.
His beloved wife Ulla had died in April 2009. Albert leaves a son, Scott, and his wife, Terry; daughter, Laura Kistler and her husband, Scott; daughter, Taina Stratton and her husband, Mike; sisters, Angie Narduzzi and Nonie McGlynchey; grandchildren, Nicola Kistler, Leah Kistler, Sara Wheeler, Mikala Stratton, Maija Stratton, Alicia Stratton and Nicolas Rex; and his much-loved and doted-upon dog, Blackie.
Albert was born in Magnolia, Ohio, and often shared stories with his own daughters and son about growing up in a large, noisy, happy Italian family. He played six-man football at Magnolia High School, breaking his nose at least once, and in those years was the proud owner and chief waxer of several very cool and sporty cars. He served in the U.S. Army as a master sergeant during the Korean War. He was a long-time employee of Fulton Lumber Co. in Canton, Ohio, and worked most his life helping contractors, building homes, repairing and adding onto homes, designing and building furniture and (especially) generously giving his time and talents to his family and friends. Albert's great, funny stories, amazing and colorful expressions and deep love for his wife and family will be much missed.

Dad,

I just wanted you to know that you were the best dad in the world. I will always remember the funny times that we shared. Remember when you hid in the bathroom eating ice cream so mom wouldn't see you......when I think of that...it makes me smile. I am sorry that I wasn't the best kid all of the time, but I hoped I made you proud because I sure was proud that you were my dad...give mom a kiss for me and I know that I will see you guys again someday...I love you dad and I miss you more than I can say...you were a wonderful man and I am thankful I had you in my life for the last 49 years...I am truly blessed..heaven is much nicer with you and mom among the angels...Rest in peace....

Scott, Laura, and Taina
and to all the grandchildren

Our hearts were saddened to hear about Albert's passing. We didn't get to see him much but when we did it was like a family reunion.
Many stories will always be remembered about him and my dad Ernie when they were in the Korean war together.

We miss your mom, now we will sure miss them both.

I remember Al bringing doughnuts to the Naples Medical Center when he came to visit his special friend and neighbor, Leslie. Always a smile on his face, just a nice man. May he rest in peace.

Scott, Laura, Taina and grandbabies
Sad to hear about your Dad. I have such good memories of him and your Mom. Your Dad and my Dad were like kids again when together. Your Dad told me that he and my Dad would take their blood sugar in the morning and whoever was the highest would by the donuts. I had to hide my smile. I told them they were bad "boys". Now all the brothers are together again. It forms a great picture in my mind!
Love to you all: Christine Rex Johnson

He was my 1st Florida friend. Always wanted to help me with house issues and would never take any money. Had a wonderful sense of humor. I will truly miss him.
