ANDREW MACEK Obituary
99, of North Canton, passed away early Thursday morning at the Canton Christian Home. He was born in Great Falls, Montana on Sept. 1, 1918 to the late Andrew F. and Anna (Palencher) Macek. Andrew proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Republic Steel in 1983, following 41 years of employment. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of North Canton, AARP and SOAR. Andrew loved the outdoors. He enjoyed farming, gardening and taking care of the yard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Louise Macek in 2006; brothers, John and George Macek; sisters, Mary Androsky, Agnes Johnson, Ann Barbaley and Helen Judson; and his great-grandson, Mason Williams. He leaves his two daughters, Anne Macek and Mary Williams; grandsons, Nick (Natalie), Ben (Emily) and Greg Williams; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Selah and Nola Williams.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church of North Canton, with the Rev. Msgr. James A. Clarke as Celebrant. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 p.m. at the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW.
