Carl E. Huddleston
Carl E. "Sam" Huddleston, age 79, of North Lawrence, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 in Cleveland Clinic. He was born in Akron on January 3, 1929 to the late Robert Eugene and Nellie Dolly Botkins Huddleston. He retired from East Ohio Gas Co. in 1987. He was an Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He faithfully attended Otterbein United Methodist Church and was a member of the Stark County Fair Board for the past 39 years. Survived by his wife, Donna L. Brown Huddleston, whom he married June 23, 1956; son, John (Joann) Huddleston of Paris, OH; two daughters, JoAnn (Dan) Sirow of Oyster Bay Cove, NY and Jennifer Huddleston of Navarre; sister, Betty J. Varns of Walnut Creek; five grandchildren, Gabrielle, Sarah, Arianne Sirow, Jesse and Jed Huddleston. Preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Robert W. Varns on April 22, 2008 and Albert Warner Brown. Services will be Monday, April 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. in Otterbein United Methodist Church with Rev. Debra Speer officiating. Burial will be in East Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre. Calling hours Sunday 1-4 p.m. at Otterbein United Methodist Church and 7-9 p.m. at Butler-Varns Funeral Home, 1018 W. Main St. (S.R. 39), Sugarcreek. Military graveside services will be held. Memorials may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church or Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, 23297 Commerce Park, Beachwood, OH 44122.
