Connie Aycock Obituary

Connie Aycock "Together Again"

73, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2021 surrounded by her children. She loved to play bridge, lunch with friends, travel, float in the pool, and read a good book; but her family was her number one priority. She loved nothing more than supporting her six grandchildren in their many activities and is known fondly as Pita to all of their friends. Connie was born in Gulfport, Miss., to the late Robert G. and Elaine M. Parker. A true southern girl, she grew up in Mobile, Ala., and graduated from Auburn University where she met and married the love of her life, John E. Aycock. John's work took them North, but Connie remained an avid Auburn fan the rest of her life. She worked as Tax Director for Hall Kistler & Company LLP for 20 years before retiring in 2017. Finding full-time retirement not to her liking, Connie came out of retirement to work as a part-time Tax Manager at Maloney Novotny LLC. Connie was a leader in the community and served on many local boards throughout the years.

Connie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, John Aycock. She is survived by her children, Ashley (Jon) Kellicker of North Canton, Meredith (Jon) Smith of Canton, and John Robert Aycock of Canton; grandchildren, Celia Kellicker, Lainey Smith, Reed Kellicker, Ainsley Smith, Skye Aycock, and Alexa Aycock; siblings, Jim (Debbie) Parker, Becky (Rick) Parker, Ruthie (Paul) Parker, Jennifer Parker, and many nieces. Nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church, 530 Tuscarawas St. W, Canton, OH 44702. A church service will follow and any who wish to attend are welcome. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Auburn University Foundation to support the arboretum in memory of Constance P. Aycock, 317 S College Street Auburn, AL 36849-5153. She will be dearly missed.

I love this photo of Connie and John. I know there is a lot of laughing going on in heaven. Connie and I were college roommates at Auburn. We had the best of times along with our other roommates and suitemates. I will always cherish those times. I am so glad that we kept up with each other over the years. One day Connie, John and I will share a spirited War Eagle together again!

Today I attended the memorial service for my dear friend Connie. Thankful that I was able to be there to pay tribute to her and to what she meant to so many others. She and John raised such a beautiful family to carry on their legacy of love and kindness to whoever they come in contact with. Connie was a very dear friend I will miss so much. Peace be with you Connie

What a beauty picture of two friends Sherry and I were proud to know for close to 35 years. I will miss their laughter and southern mannerism. I have always admired their family values and their close nit children who showed their parents utmost respect. The will always be remembered and added to my prayer list. Go War Eagles!
