Not sure what to say?

October 3, 2011

Dale, Michelle & Family,

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your son was a very nice young man.
It was a shame what happened to him. My daughter, trained him when he worked at Kraftmaid and had only good things to say about him.

October 1, 2011

We are so sorry to hear about this senseless and tragic event. It's so hard to understand why a young man, so strong in his belief in God, would be taken from us like he was. My family has been thinking about Dale and his family since this tragedy has occurred. We pray that the guilty are found. We wish for Dale's families to remain strong as they continue to deal with their loss.

September 30, 2011

Sharon, Dominick, and Jackie - we are so sorry about your loss. Dale was a great person and a great man. He will be missed by so many.

I am so sorry to dales family in his loss. He was one of the first people to welcome me to akron when I transferred from ysu. I didn't know him at the time but his hug said it all. He was a very good friend to me and although we lost touch after awhile, I will never ever forget that LAUGH and especially his hug. He never failed to make me laugh. I have been thinking about him daily & want to help in celebrating his life by doing good for others. Love you buddy! Watch over us all <3

This is a remarkable story of a person who was on fire for God, who clearly loved people and wanted to touch lives with the Gospel. My heart is heavy in your loss, yet I rejoice at the life he continues to live with the Lord our God. May you know the peace that surpasses all understanding and sense the prayers of your brothers and sisters in Christ in love. We will continue to lift you up in prayer and we are sure that this young man has touched countless lives.

My prayers and thoughts are with Dale's family and friends. I got the privilege to meet Dale a couple weeks ago when I first started to attend Faith Family. He has inspired and touched so many people. This tragedy has constantly been in my mind. From only knowing him a short time, I saw he was a wonderful person. I hope that God's love and peace will comfort you in this time.

I haven't been able to get this senseless tragedy out of my mind for days now. My heart goes out to Dale's family, including church family. He died as he lived, for Christ. What a remarkable young man in this day of disbelief. I wish I had known him. I believe that his death will bring even more people to Christ as his story as told. May God bless and keep you all in His hand during this difficult time.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

No one knows when a great tragedy might strike any of us. Only God knows that. I think that’s the way God wants it so that we can lean on each other and on Him. What strength we lose when we lose someone close is gained in the experience of loss we must endure.
Our hearts go out to all Dale's family in this very difficult time. Stay strong!

My thoughts and prayers are with Dale's family and friends during tragic time. I had the privilege of working with Dale at Outback, and was very shocked to hear about him. The people he touched will be able to look back on his short life as a testimony and an expamle of how Christ would want us to show his love to everyone we meet.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends and may the peace of God that passes all understanding be yours in Jesus name! We did not know Dale, but we know he must have been a remarkable young man. We know that it isn't what we do for God that makes us rejoice, but what God does for us that makes us rejoice because in the end, WE WIN!!!

I had the pleasure of coaching Dale in High School Baseball at Newton Falls. Dale had a love and desire for the game like no other young man I had ever been around. I am a better person to have had the oppurtunity to met and coached him. I wish I could have a Dale Settle on every team I coach. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to his family and freinds.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to all of Dales family. He will be missed by so many people. Just reading about how many lives he must have touched proves he was a true inspiration to many. The last time I saw Dale was at our family reunion last year. Reminiscing over pictures taken from that day gives me comfort to know that family is so important in our lives. To all my cousins, remember the fond memories of Dale and it will bring you comfort in this tragic time of sorrow. Love to you all, Sandy and Dan

My heartfelt sympathy to Dale's parents, family, church family and friends. We all feel your loss, but our loss is heaven's gain. Our Heavenly Father knows what's best, and we can't question Him. We just have to believe. He gave His son too, so that we might live.

You have so much to be proud of. Reading of Dale's extreme faith, even in those last moments, makes me question mine, and wonder if it's as stong as it should be. I will be asking God to increase my faith and my acceptance of His will. Thank you Dale for that.

I'm willing to bet that in life, you brought many souls to Christ, and in death, you brought many more to Him. Many now realize their mortality, and how short life can be.

May God grant you eternal rest, and grant peace, love, forgiveness and comfort to your family and friends. What an example you left for us all.

Sincerely,

Mary Parker and daughter, Andrea Currence

I did not know your son. But, I am so impressed by the way he believed in God. Even with the sadness your feeling you must be very proud that he would lay down his life for another and trust in God with all his heart. We are all called to believe but how many would follow thru in the face of danger? Thank you for raising a remarkable son. May God bless you and your family. May God give you peace and comfort. May God give you wisdom and understanding. And most of all may He give you strength and love. God Bless all of you.

Our sincerest sympathy to the family and many friends in the loss of Dale. Although why didn't know him, he sounded like such a wonderful young man. What a beautiful way he had spent his evening before he was taken. I know he's in God's beautiful kingdom where such an angel belongs. It is such a shame that a lack of Godliest cost Dale his life. I hope the example Dale showed to the young people he blessed with his time not only learned from him and but are so effected by this tragic event to take the correct choices in life. May God's light help you through this very difficult time. Our continued thoughts and prayers will be with you.
