David Bianchi Obituary

David Bianchi

In Loving Memory of David Bianchi 9/25/53-2/16/21

David passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 16, 2021, surrounded by loving family. David was born in Canton, OH to Silvio (Zeke) Bianchi and Theresa Evans (Bianchi). He spent his life in Canton, OH where he was a graduate of Canton McKinley High and could be found at every Bulldog sporting event. For the past 25 years David Bianchi, like his father, devoted his life to teaching baseball to Canton's youth at Holly Hills baseball.

He is survived by his three sons; Bryce, Alec & Davis Bianchi along with his sisters; Debbie Gosiewski, Toni Gatschet & Lisa Owens and many nieces and nephews.

A private church service in his honor will be held for family and close personal friends on Saturday, February 27th., 1 pm at St. Anthony's Church. A celebration in his honor will be arranged at a later date when we can all gather safely. Please email [email protected] if you wish to receive details regarding the event. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Holly Hills baseball.

I met David through Cleveland Indians baseball. I would help get him playoff tickets to the games as I hold season tickets. We became friends over the years as I would meet him in New Philadelphia and we would have dinner and talk baseball. He was a great guy I truly enjoyed talking to. He was very welcoming as he invited my wife and I to his house once after a game. I had not heard from him for a while and I am so saddened to hear of his passing. I will miss our conversations, and I pray for his family. He loved his family and baseball.

Dave was a truly exceptional man that I looked up to and worked for many years of my life. I am deeply saddened to hear of this loss that so many people will be affected by, and I knew of his illness but was unaware of his passing. My heart goes out to his children as well as his family and friends. I am proud to admit that I knew him as well as I did. And the world has lost another great soul. I'll pray that his family realizes what they meant to him. Even 20+ years ago, his greatest asset to him was his children first family close 2nd. I am glad I got this chance to say goodbye. Dave was one of the first friends I met at Canton McKinley HS, in 1969. I haven’t talked with Dave in many years but I will always remember his gentle ways, kind smile, excellent handwriting and the very much appreciated rides home from school. My sincerest condolences to his family. RIP, Dave.

David was my first boss at the Canton Water Department back in the 1970’s when I worked two summer on the grass crew. Those were two of the best summers of my young life. I will never forget our times a Cromer Beach. He was more than just a boss, he was a friend for 40+ years. He will be sadly missed. My deepest condolences to his family.

Thoughts and prayers to all of Davids family. Growing up, Dave was close friends with my boys and played baseball with them in Mighty Might -coached by his dad, Zeke & my husband, Bob . We lost touch with Dave as he grew up and he moved on to coach kids in Holly Hills but will always remember him fondly as will so many others.

I have known David since the 1970’s. We both worked at the Canton Water Dept. and grew up in the same neighborhoods. He was always a stylish dresser who could do some dancing when urged. I will miss “B” and so will many others. Prayers to the Bianchi family!

So sorry to hear of Dave's passing, he was truly one of a kind, and had a true passion for being around kids. He loved the game of baseball, and especially watching the young kids play. Everytime I would see Dave he would talk about his family which he loved very much! Now, him and Zeke can start a youth league in heaven! Prayers to his family, RIP Dave.
