Visitation will be held at St. Michael of the Archangel Church in Canton, Ohio on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009 at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment will be at North Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.cff.org (1-800-344-4823) or Alive Hospice at www.alivehospice.org (615-327-1085). Messages of support and sympathy can be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com.

My name is Artie Parrish class of 60 from the Elms. My sister and Doreen were best of friends. They went through all 12 years together. In fact she was in my sisters wedding. My sister Irene Konstantinopoulos Buckey died in 1978. I just wanted to say how sorry I was to read of her death in the Elms magazine.

We had a beloved babysitter when our Mia was a child. She was Elizabeth (Besh) Benchea Block, and we cherished our friendship with her, her mother and father, and also with Matthew whom we met when Elizabeth was at Vanderbilt. Mia spent quite a bit of time with the Bencheas and never failed to tell us what a fun, loving family they were. Mr. and Mrs. Benchea raised their children in such a way that made each one of them feel special and wonderful as individuals as well as part of a family, and we saw the outcome of this in the loving way that Elizabeth treated our child. We send all of the family our deepest condolences, and the deepest love and appreciation for the whole Benchea family.

TO DOREEN'S FAMILY,
I NEVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING ANY OF YOU BUT KNOWING DOREEN IN HIGH SCHOOL AT THE ELMS IS ENOUGH TO TELL ME THAT SHE HAS A WONDERFUL FAMILY. HER DAD WAS ALSO MY DOCTOR FOR YEARS.
ELIZABETH BENCHEA PFEIFFER, JUST WANT TO LET YOU AND THE ENTIRE FAMILY KNOW THAT DOREEN WILL BE REMEMBERED IN MY PRAYERS ON CHRISTMAS. THE PAST 8 WEEKS HAVE NOT BEEN EASY FOR ME BUT I KNOW THAT EVENTUALLY THINGS WILL GET EASIER.

Dear Aunt Doreen ~
You were always the most caring, gentle, generous, and consistent Godmother I could have ever wanted. Thank you for being so loving to me all of my life.
You were always a major part of our family, and you were taken from us too soon. It's a very sad and devastating loss. At least I am comforted to know that you are in Heaven with Grandma Dorothy, Grandpa Tom, your brother Robert, and your aunts and uncles.
My prayers are with Uncle Traian, Tommy, Beth and Marissa as well as Carrie, Matthew, and all the grandchildren. What a wonderful family!

Tom, I was deeply saddened to see the news about your mom. Her picture in the paper caught my eye and I recognized her right away. Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss.
