Dwight Mattern Obituary
age 74, of Louisville, went home to be with the Good Lord on Sunday Feb. 7, 2016 with family by his side in the comfort of his home after a long illness. He was born in Canton on Aug. 5, 1941 to the late Edward and May (Crowl) Mattern and graduated from Marlboro High School. He was known as “Uncle- Son” and “Sonny” to family and friends. He was an avid sports fan of Browns Football and of Horse Racing. He also loved the outdoors, fishing with his son and birdwatching. He always had a love for dogs and enjoyed being around family.
Survived by his wife Jane; son Matthew; sister Norma (Paul) Burton of North Canton; and many many family members and friends. Preceded in death by four sisters.
Calling hours are Saturday 10 a.m.- noon and funeral services begin at noon on Saturday at Arnold Funeral Home, Hartville. Pastor Dave Hohlbaugh will officiate. Final resting place is Marlboro Cemetery.

I am sorry for the loss of a loved one. Those of you that had 'Sonny' in your life are left with an empty spot in your hearts. May good memories fill the emptiness over the years. If I could say anything to Dwight it would be that we were related and I wish I could have known him. May God be with you all.
