There are no words that can be spoken that can ease your loss. Eli now goes to a more beautiful place than the one he leaves behind. He lives on in your all your hearts and memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief-May your memories bring you comfort-Eternal be his memory...

As a volunteer at the Canton VA Clinic with Eli for the last four years it is hard to say good by to such a good man as Eli. He was one of the most giving and honorable men it has been my honor to have served with. The veterans that come to the VA Clinic and his fellow volunteers have lost a truly SPECIAL person.

Eli was an e-mail friend of mine; we have never met. He knew my folks, Don and Alberta Smyth, who lived in Hartville near Schumacher Lumber where he worked. Sorry I did not get to meet him before he left for Heaven. Please email me, Deb. With love, Sara

I WAS LOOKING AT THE OBITUARIES AT 5:30 SATURDAY MORNING ON MY WEBTV. I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES WHEN I SAW ELI'S NAME.
I WORKED WITH ELI AT MONARCH, PLANT THREE. YOU COULDN'T FIND A NICER MAN, EVEN IF YOU TRIED. WHEN HE DROVE FOR THE VA, HE WOULD PICK ME UP HERE IN HARTVILLE, WHEN I HAD AN APPOINTMENT, WE ALWAYS HAD NICE CONVERSATIONS. WHEN HE QUIT DRIVING, I WOULD ALWAYS SEE HIM AT THE VA WHEN I HAD AN APPOINTMENT, AGAIN, NICE CONVERSATIONS. I KNOW, NOT ONLY THE FAMILY WILL MISS HIM, BUT THE HUNDREDS OF VETERANS THAT HE CAME IN CONTACT WITH AT THE VA, AND FOR SURE THE STAFF AND FELLOW WORKERS. I KNOW HE'LL BE HELPING THE VETERANS IN HEAVEN, JUST LIKE HE DID HERE ON EARTH. WHAT A WONDER GIFT GOD RECEIVED WHEN ELI ARRIVED. JUST KNOWING ELI IS IN HEAVEN, SHOULD BE COMFORTING TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS
AND ALL WHO KNEW HIM

Eli,
I will miss you more than words can say. And to your loved ones, I am a nurse at the Canton VA clinic and I just want to tell you what a joy and honor it was to know and love your dad. God's blessings to all of you during your time of grief. I know one day soon your memories will comfort you and bring a smile to your faces. Your dad was truly a wonderful man, loved by all.
