Helen Masters Obituary

Helen Eldora
Guy Masters
age 98 of Canton, went Home to be with Jesus on Dec. 18, 2011. She died after a short illness and was surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on Jan. 18, 1913 near Greens Fork, Ind., to the late Willard Sr. and Elsie Guy. Helen was a member of First Christian Church since 1946 and volunteered in their nursery for 50 years. She was also a member of the church's Welshimer Bible Class. Helen was employed at the Stark County Prosecutor's office as a receptionist from 1962-1968 and prior to that she was a legal secretary for a law firm. As a young woman, Helen played the piano for the church where her father was a minister. She was also a piano teacher for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Masters, whom she married in 1935; sisters, Isabel Guy, Winifred Geyler, and Lucy DeCamp; and brother, Willard Guy, who was a minister as was his father. She is survived by her children, Doris Mills of Painesville, Ohio, James (Cheryl) Masters of Columbus, Ohio, Janet (Larry) Zook of New Philadelphia, Ohio and William (Pamela) Masters of North Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Sue (Gene) George, Pamela (Michael) Brooks, Nancy Salek, Matthew (Tiffany) Masters, Amanda (John) Conley, Michael (Erin) Masters, John (Tracy) Zook, David (Lynette) Zook, Jay Masters, Jeffrey (Katelyn) Masters and Andrea Masters; 17 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday 4-7 p.m. at the Reed Funeral Home, NORTH CANTON CHAPEL (801 Pittsburg Ave NW). Minister Jeff Bullock will officiate the funeral service 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family suggests donations to First Christian Church Bus Fund, 6900 Market Ave. N, Canton, OH 44721.
