Howard Eugene Marty
Age 77, of Canton died Friday, July 13, 2012 in Aultman Hospital. Born April 19, 1935 in Sardis, Ohio to the late Ernest E. and Iva L. (Moffett) Marty. He was a Canton resident most of his life and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a 1958 graduate of Canton Timken Vocational High School. Eugene retired from Local Union #94 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters in 1997 with more than 30 years of service. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ where he served as an elder. He was also a member of the NRA, North American Hunting Club and VFW Post #3747.
Preceded in death by one son, Timothy Marty; one sister, Betty June Wagner. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Vivian A. (Myers) Marty; one son, Thomas Marty of Canton; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Carl Day of Johnstown, Ohio; two grandchildren, Alison and Casey Day; one nephew and spouse, Russ and Kathy Hannenkrat of Woodsfield, Ohio; several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with John Ahmed officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Southwest Church of Christ.
